Yesterday I watched 3 short films on MAMI YouTube channel (by the way, I hate YouTube)
The interesting thing highlighted on the channel about these movies was that they were all shot on iPhone.
But to me, the most interesting thing about these 3 movies was that they were very different from what I have seen already. The writing, the screenplay—these movies did so well in presenting what they wanted to show in just 30 minutes that countless stories are unable to do so in 10 hours or more.

There is one more thing that I observed. Whenever I used to plan for something or while choosing to watch a movie or a show, one thing that guided that decision was that it should be good, or should be in a particular way. For example, if I were to go to watch a film, it should be a good film. If I were to eat in a restaurant, the food should taste good. If I were to meet someone, that meeting should be worth it. The end result or the goal should be known. It should not be uncertain. I am scared of uncertainty. That is how most of us live. Being scared of the unknown.
I realize how boring this is. From waking up until going to sleep at night, we want to know what exactly is going to happen. We want to control everything and everyone and we don’t want anyone or anything to control us. Humans. Hi.
We don’t want bondage and we want to bind everything in such a way that we can control it. It could be an object or a person.
What is creativity?
The real exciting thing in our lives is uncertainty (if your mind is open). You’ll see possibilities in the unknown. That ‘maybe’ factor. “Let me find out.” Because if you know the review already, what is the fun in watching that movie!? That movie—oh, it is a feel-good movie. You are supposed to feel good when you watch that. Even before you have seen it, you know it. How is this interesting? Isn’t it called stagnation? This is a mechanical way of life. Running in the same loop all the time, doing the same things in the same way all of the time—is it really life?
