Back to Basics (I am physically active and mentally relaxed.)

To my future self

I asked myself, “What’s the most important thing in life?” or “What makes a good life?”

Obviously, I don’t know right now. But these 3 rules help me clarify my day-to-day decisions. Because ultimately, whatever you do in life is to create a better life for yourself.

So why don’t we start with the most basic things.

1. Health

Never take your health for granted.
Mantra: I am physically active and mentally relaxed.

Repeat it all the time; stick it on your walls and around yourself so that you see it every day.

2. Wealth

There is no doubt that you need money to survive. It’s importance is limited to a relatively comfortable survival. Never run out of fuel.

3. Happiness

I don’t know what happiness is, but I know what is not happiness.

Of course, you need good health and money to be happy but money and health in themselves are not happiness. Lack of money is dangerous. A disease or disorder is unhealthy. But good health and a good amount of money do not mean happiness.

*There is a long-running, famous study called The Harvard Study of Adult Development that has established a strong correlation between deep relationships and well-being.

*Happiness is directly linked to relationships.
